Awards and accreditations recognise Menzies’ quality and compliance

From health and safety, to customer service, to the safe transportation of food and consumer goods, Menzies Distribution is being recognised as a leader in quality and compliance.

For Menzies Distribution, the continual improvement of quality and compliance throughout our business is a key focus. We are therefore delighted that recent awards and accreditations recognise continued improvements and performance across the whole organisation.

With the health and safety of our people and everyone we interact with a top concern, we are extremely pleased to have been recognised as a world-leader in health and safety practice by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), scooping Gold and Silver awards within the Menzies Group. The annual RoSPA Awards is one of the most prestigious and recognised schemes in the world, with almost 2,000 entries every year, covering nearly 50 countries and over 7 million employees.

Operating a network of dedicated food and consumer warehousing for ambient goods, and a specialist food tanker fleet, Menzies provides safe, secure and reliable food and ingredients delivery nationwide for some of the world’s most recognisable brands. Our BRCGS Global Standards Storage and Distribution (S&D) certification provides assurance to our customers that the products we handle remain safe, legal and of high quality. The standards specifically cover our logistics operations dealing with food, packaging and consumer products. Reflecting our growth in these sectors, Menzies is delighted to have received accreditation for three more sites, with 12 sites now certified with the top AA grade through the transition to Version 4 of the S&D standard. In addition, we hold Organic Storage certification with the Soil Association at five sites.

We are also extremely pleased to have been recognised for service excellence, with our Customer Service Centre in Linwood being awarded a Silver Achievement Award by CCA, the leading global authority on customer contact strategies and operations. Menzies is committed to continuously improving our customers’ experience and our successful adoption of the CCA Global Standard© over the past 11 years has been an important element in driving ongoing improvements.

CCA Chief Executive Anne-Marie Forsyth said the accreditation “reflects the dedication and drive in delivering consistency, efficiency and continual improvement for customers in today’s challenging times.”

Combined with recent accreditations from the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (recognising exemplary best practice in safety, efficiency and environmental protection), Logistics UK’s Van Excellence scheme (focused on compliance and best practice) and the successful implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 quality assurance standard at our Norton and Ashford sites, the awards and certifications demonstrate our commitment to continual improvement across our operations.

Welcoming these recognitions Robin Dearden, Group Quality & Environment Manager, said:

“Our awards and accreditations are testament to the hard work of our people and the culture we’ve developed across the business. While we celebrate and take pride in them, we are also looking forward, to ensure we lead on quality and compliance, delivering best in class service to our customers.”
