2021: A year of awards as Menzies pioneers the future of the supply chain

Record year for recognition by our industry peers and customers

Menzies Distribution is proud to review a record year for winning industry awards. These are all testament to our mission for continuous improvement, best in class service and a commitment to shaping the future of sustainable supply chains.

During 2021, our Company was widely recognised by industry bodies, major media outlets and standards organisations for all key elements of its work: technical excellence and fleet quality; health and safety; social responsibility, sustainability and environmental impact; and quality of service.

Most recently, December 2021 saw Menzies named Van Operator of the Year at the 2021 Logistics UK Awards. This month we also scooped Green Fleet of the Year for the second consecutive year at the What Van? Awards 2022.

Between achieving Most Innovative Company of the Year and winning the Unipart Logistics award for Sustainability at the Supply Chain Awards in November 2021, Menzies won several industry plaudits throughout the year including Best Pandemic Response, Sustainable Van Operator of the Year, Green Innovation at the Logistics Leadership Awards, as well as being shortlisted for Motor Transport magazine’s Livery of the Year. In the critical areas of health and safety, the group was delighted to win four RoSPA Gold Safety Awards and, from the British Safety Council, the CEO Award and International Safety Award.

This recognition is particularly satisfying against a background of considerable corporate activity and strategic progress at Menzies in the past 12 months. At the close of 2020, the group sealed a transformational deal with the acquisition of Bibby Distribution, adding several new operating sites and a large, young fleet to the well-established Menzies platform. In January 2021, former Asda CEO Andy Clarke was appointed as Non-Executive Chairman. In May 2021, former Booker CEO Charles Wilson joined as a Non-Executive Director and new significant investor. In June 2021, Menzies dramatically increased its footprint in Scotland with the acquisition of JBT Distribution.
