So far in 2021, we have committed to investing £11.6 million in new assets including 115 new tractor units, 10 bespoke lifting roof trailers, 65 high cubic capacity curtainsiders.
To maximise capacity, we operate the largest fleet of high cube trailers in the country benefiting customers moving high volumes of large, lightweight items. We also operate a number of double-deck trailers and longer length semi-trailers offering an extra 16% capacity per load compared to a conventional trailer, significantly reducing the number of journeys required.
Our transport fleet replacement programme means our average vehicle age is less than two years old, and only 3.5 for trailers, and by continuously introducing new technology we meet Clean Air Zone regulations, minimise vehicle emissions and record outstanding levels of uptime.
We also work closely with manufacturers and industry bodies to ensure we are on top of sector developments, logistics challenges, and legislative changes.
We invest heavily in our driver team, including providing a telematics system incorporating in-cab cameras and bespoke individual training based on performance metrics, ensuring drivers can maximise their skills, efficiency and making our roads safer.
We have a far reaching network covering the whole of the UK and Ireland, including a mix of large, dedicated distribution centres and multi-user operations. We work hard to structure our services around our customers’ operations providing full and part loads.

Our palletised network is based on six strategically located hubs in East Kilbride, Wakefield, Bury, Corby, Droitwich and Avonmouth and we operate a nationwide next-day pallet service.
We also provide a ‘Through The Night’ service for goods needed at the start of a working day — an option that proves extremely popular with customers in the automotive and engineering sectors who require parts distribution and emergency parts. Our trusted drivers are used to delivering to manned and unmanned locations with access via a key or code.
Our nationwide depot network can also be accessed by our colleagues at Menzies Distribution Logistics Ltd to include European road freight and global air and sea freight.

We use a single Transport Management System to ensure our orders are captured, routed and scheduled as efficiently as possible, as well as vehicle tracking to provide full traceability.
Handheld devices allow our drivers to capture electronic PODs and photos, and our system allows images to be instantly transmitted to our support centres and customers. We also have the ability to scan bar codes at every stage of the supply chain, providing live updates of the quantity at each location — a tool that improves control, reduces losses and proactively helps to avoid supply shortages.
