Record number of teachers download free education resources

Almost 4,000 free teaching aids were ordered from Menzies Distribution’s specialist education portal in September – a record number since the site was launched a year ago.

Since the start of the new school term, more than 11,000 teachers have visited the website which hosts resources on a variety of subjects including Art and Design, Design and Technology, English, Geography, History, Maths, Languages, PE and Science.
The resources, which teachers can either download or request by post for free, are created by a variety of household name organisations including British Gas, the European Commission, John Lewis and The Wellcome Trust.
Resources4schools Co-ordinator David Harman, from Jem Education Direct, said: “The number of orders we have had for September proves there is a real appetite from teachers to access free tools to help them achieve their goals in the classroom.
“Most of the feedback we get is surprise that such a facility exists which is truly free of charge, even if teachers request material to be posted to them. In fact, companies are keen to fulfil their corporate social responsibility duties and we are pleased to be able to support teachers’ needs.”
