Menzies wins major extension with UK construction product leader Board24

Menzies Distribution has secured a five year extension to its major distribution contract with Board24 Ltd, the largest sheet feeder in the UK, manufacturing corrugated board across three locations in England and Scotland.

The partnership commenced in 2010, and this extension follows several contract renewals. The scope of services provided by Menzies includes the collection of paper reels from port, on site shunting and outbound customer deliveries from Board24’s plants at Coalville, Leicestershire and Preston, Lancashire.

Menzies operates a core fleet of vehicles including Longer Semi Trailers (LSTs) at both sites. Approximately 100 customer deliveries are completed every day, most of which are full loads. Since service is of paramount importance, a Menzies team dedicated to the Board24 contract ensures that deliveries are made on time and in full.

Commenting on the renewal and extension, Mark Davies, Business Unit Director (Transport) at Menzies, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have secured this strategically important renewal at both Coalville and Preston. As well as continuing to provide a high level of service and safety, the team will continue to demonstrate the value of our partnership through a high degree of focus on Continuous Improvement initiatives. Board24 is an important customer in the packaging sector, and this renewal, alongside others already announced during 2022, is in no small part down to the level of specific knowledge and experience our teams have built up. They also demonstrate that we continue to be the go-to partner across the packaging sector.”

Dominic Drew, Managing Director, Board24 Ltd. added: “The two businesses complement each other well. We have some ambitious aspirations for the next five years and selecting Menzies to continue to manage our transport activities at Coalville and Preston will provide us with a solid platform which has proven to be flexible, adaptable and able to provide our customers with a dependable solution in a highly competitive market.”
