Community

At Menzies Distribution we respect the communities within which we operate.

We are proud to help causes our employees are involved with through the John M. Menzies Community Fund which makes individual cash awards of up to £350 per employee or £700 for a team of employees undertaking a charitable or community project. All awards are made in consultation with the Directors of our businesses and during 2010 we awarded more than £8,000 to 30 different projects, from marathons to sponsored cycles, in aid of causes as wide ranging as community sports teams and Cancer charities.

We also operate a Charity Fund which is set each year by the Group Board before Menzies Distribution and our colleagues at Menzies Aviation decide which organisations to support.

In 2010, we selected 3 Charities to receive support from this fund: The Diana Award, NewstrAid and Cancer Research UK, the latter voted for by our employees.

In 2011, we again selected The Diana Award and NewstrAid, with our employee selection going to Children 1st.
