Supply Arrangement Changes at Chelmsford

Summary of Changes

With effect from 23rd August, Chelmsford will become a spoke of Maidstone Hub branch.

Which Customers Are Affected

All customers supplied by Chelmsford will be affected.

Impact on Customer Reference Numbers

Existing customer reference numbers will be changed. We will circulate new details 7-14 days before the changes take effect.

Impact on Delivery Arrangements

Delivery arrangements will remain largely unchanged.

There may be some minor changes to runs to allow for increased capacity for Totes.

Impact on Magazine Packing

Magazines will be packed on HS technology at Maidstone branch into Tote boxes and transhipped to Chelmsford for consolidation with newspaper supplies.

Impact on Newspaper Packing

Newspapers will continue to be packed at Chelmsford.

Impact on Returns Processing

Newspaper returns will be processed at our Central Returns Unit in Thurrock.

All magazine, sticker, collectable or voucher returns will continue to be processed at our Central Returns Unit in Thurrock.

Impact on Customer Services

The contact details for customer queries will remain unchanged and the same team will answer those queries at the Sheffield Contact Centre.

Impact on Documentation

Customers will receive two invoices for a period of a few months and a combined statement giving a single overall balance.

A Chelmsford invoice will be produced which will include credit for returned copies which relate to issues invoiced prior to 23rd August.

A Maidstone invoice will be produced which will include charges and credits for returned copies all of which will relate to issues invoices after 23rd August.

Impact on SBR & Fulfilment

SBR will be switched off 3 weeks prior to 23rd August at Chelmsford. It will be switched back on in w/c 30th August at Maidstone branch.
