Frequently asked questions

Read our answers to the questions most frequently asked by customers:

Which browser should I use?

Our online services have been developed to support the most recent mainstream browser versions. We currently recommend that you use either Netscape 7.1, Mozilla 1.4 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 6. If you are using an earlier version, we recommend upgrading your browser.

Reasons to upgrade

  • You'll get all the latest features and enhancements
  • The major browser developers rarely support old versions of their browser software (most are offered for free) and instead, issue new releases
  • Pages designed for the latest browsers can follow accepted standards, and therefore tend to work faster for you
  • Many old browsers have known bugs or security holes that malicious web sites can take advantage of. Upgrading to the latest version is often the only way to avoid these vulnerabilities

Do I need to enable cookies?

A 'cookie' is a small piece of information which a website places into your browser and can retrieve later. It cannot be read by any website other than that which placed the cookie. We use cookies for several reasons. For example, we can store your preferences for certain kinds of information, or keep track of your progress through our site.

Cookies must be enabled in your browser to access all of the facilities of the MenziesNet site.

How is my personal data managed?

Please see the MenziesNet Privacy Policy for full details of how we store and use personal information.

What is Acrobat Reader and where do I get it?

Acrobat Reader is software that your browser uses to view files created in Adobe's "Portable Document Format" (PDF). This is a very popular technology that allows anyone with the Reader program to view files exactly as they were created, with all formatting and layout as intended.

You will need to have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer in order to view many of the documents on the Menzies Distribution website. Acrobat Reader is provided free of charge by Adobe, and can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

What is the best screen resolution to use?

MenziesNet is best viewed with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels or above. This will allow you to look at documents such as invoices without needing to use the scroll bar.

When I print copy invoices and Delivery Notes, how do I make them fit onto the page?

The MenziesNet system creates these documents as web pages, to allow them to be viewed in as many browsers as possible. Printing from your browser is controlled by the settings you use locally, and cannot be changed by the MenziesNet website. Our recommendations (which may vary for your own browser and operating system) are:

In Internet Explorer:

  • Select 'View' then 'Text Size' from the main menu at the top of the screen
  • For the text size, select 'Smallest'
  • Set your printer orientation to Landscape
  • The document will then fit onto standard A4 paper

In Netscape and Mozilla, the settings are very similar.

Please note that as you are printing an HTML page, the print layout and page breaks will not exactly match those of the document as you see it on-screen.
